Privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information the Zext Pro app and this website collect, why, and what control you have over it. Zext Pro (“we”, “us”) is responsible for your information. If you have any questions, email support@zextpro.com.
What we collect
| Information | Why we use it |
|---|---|
| Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only in encrypted form) | To create your account, sign you in, send confirmation and password-reset emails, and show your name on lessons you upload. |
| Learning activity: lessons you complete, where you stopped in a video, and your quiz answers and scores | To save your progress and show you how far you’ve got. Instructors can see quiz results for their own courses. |
| Content you upload: videos, PDFs, titles and descriptions | To show your lessons to other learners once they are approved. |
| Reports and blocks: lessons you report and the reason you give, and people you block | To keep the app safe and hide content you don’t want to see. |
| Technical information: basic logs such as IP address and time of request, kept by our hosting providers | To keep the service secure and working. |
We do not show ads, sell your information, or use advertising or analytics trackers. We don’t access your contacts, location, camera or microphone. The app only reads a file from your phone when you choose one to upload.
Our legal basis
Under UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR and GDPR), we use your information to provide the service you sign up for (performance of a contract), and to keep the app secure and free of abuse (our legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers that process information on our behalf and only as we instruct:
- Supabase stores accounts, learning data and uploaded files.
- Resend sends account emails, such as confirmations and password resets.
- Netlify hosts this website.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, it is protected by safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Other learners can see your name next to lessons you upload. Instructors can see your progress and quiz results on their own courses. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, progress, quiz results, reports, blocks and the files you uploaded straight away. Backups held by our hosting provider are overwritten within a short period afterwards.
Your rights
You can access, correct, download or delete your information, and object to or restrict how we use it. You can change your name in the app, and delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account or by following these steps. For anything else, email support@zextpro.com and we’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Zext Pro is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored only in hashed form. Access rules in our database ensure each user can only see what they’re allowed to.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email.
